Why join PALs program?

The PALs program, which stands for Peer Ambassador Leaders, is a tutoring program at Zayed University. As a PAL, you would get to tutor the courses you are passionate about and select the number of hours you would like to tutor each week, from 2 hours minimum to 4 hours maximum. However, there is way more about the program than tutoring. It includes many opportunities, such as volunteering, attending, and/or hosting workshops.
From my personal experience as a PAL, I was involved in some volunteering opportunities, such as the EHS event held at the university and the Alumni Suhoor event. My participation helped me connect with the ZU community and try out different roles when volunteering, such as the registration team or welcoming guests. Hosting/attending workshops is one of the program's most exciting aspects, bringing together PAL members. Among the workshops conducted are the Lego workshop, the Tote bag painting workshop, the growing plants workshop, and the matcha-making workshop.

Educational and entertainment field trips are also part of the program, where PALs enjoy their time together and benefit from some trips, such as the motion gate field trip and visiting the LinkedIn office, which took place last semester. It is a student-led tutoring program and is open to new suggestions and ideas. Moreover, PALs are encouraged to add their unique touch to the program, such as designing the badges and taking part in the rebranding, which happens every few years when the PALs Logo is redesigned. Furthermore, the program is an excellent opportunity to enhance leadership and communication skills.
